The Young Dubliners Rock the Crowd at NAMM with Community
At this year’s NAMM Convention, Community Professional Loudspeakers covered dual stagYoungDubs_05smes in the Anaheim Marriott Lounge. The Young Dubliners rocked the crowd well into the evening, playing through Community’s iBOX system. The band’s FOH engineer Martin “Woofy” Greaves was notably impressed with the iBOX.

“It was very punchy, very direct, very present,” said Greaves. “The lows weren’t too woofy, it was very clear. You could hear every single frequency, and it all came through just great.”

Onstage, the band were equally pleased with Community’s M12 monitors. “The monitors were directional, but warm enough to really cut through the mix nicely,” said guitarist Bob Boulding. “I had a lot of my guitar in the mix, and it was very natural, like having another amp up there.”

“It’s a really nice design for a monitor, especially for small places,” added violinist Chris Waltz.

“I had a rather interesting setup,” observed Eric Rigler (uilleann pipes and tin whistle). “Normally I have a bit more room to spread out, but due to the narrowness of the stage I had to have the monitor directly to the side of me. My vocal mic is set for pretty high gain because of the whistles, and I was concerned that we’d have feedback issues. But I heard myself clear as day, and not a bit of feedback. I was really impressed.”
